Escher in The Palace marks 90 years since Escher's last visit to the Alhambra with an exhibition that explores the ongoing dialogue between his work and Islamic art. The exhibition brings together his work with that of 20 contemporary artists inspired by Islamic cultural heritage. Spanning disciplines including painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, fashion, textiles, and paper art, the exhibition highlights the enduring influence of Islamic patterns and their continued relevance in contemporary artistic practice.

The exhibition features 30 works by 20 national and international artists. The participating artists: Nasam Abboud & Yazan Maksoud, Karim Adduchi, Layla May Arthur, Amine Asselman, Dana Awartani, Fatima Barznge, Emin Batman, Hassan Hajjaj, Siddiqa Juma, Mous Lamrabat, Shehzil Malik, Farwa Moledina, Suleika Mueller, Leila Nazarian, Shirin Neshat, Mounir Raji and in collaboration with MASTOOR, Alfaz Sayed and Ishraq Zraikat.

This exhibition is made possible with the support of Stichting Zabawas, the Mondriaan Fund, the Cultuurfonds, the Municipality of The Hague, and Fonds21.
