Dana Awartani has been selected to represent Saudi Arabia at the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, with Antonia Carver as curator and Hafsa Alkhudair as assistant curator.

A leading figure among the current generation of Saudi artists, Awartani often collaborates with artisans and draws from cultural heritage and craft traditions—many of which she has personally trained in. The pavilion will reflect her ongoing engagement with the preservation of cultural heritage and the concepts it embodies.

The Saudi Pavilion is commissioned by the Visual Arts Commission, one of eleven sector-specific commissions under the Ministry of Culture.
